This is a program Ananya launched at Deepti Designs (free of cost) that aims to equip artists with the skills needed to confidently and creatively communicate. Consisting of five online sessions, she taught participants the essentials of public speaking, with a focus on visual art. The spring session of the program ran from January to March 2023.
Ananya planned and implemented the second leg of Creative Voices, this time a 4-week summer program consisting of 9 total sessions. She also developed the Creative Voices Leadership Team, which consists of student mentors who graduated from the Creative Voices spring program 2023.
Created 2-minute video explaining how to draw and paint a simple Madhubani bird design on a bookmark. The video was displayed at a Madhubani art workshop event at Google.
Ananya helped lead an art workshop to paint a Madhubani-styled flower pot, where people of all ages were invited to participate. She taught concepts such as kachni, bharni, dip-and-dot, and other patterns that were representative of the art form.
Ananya spoke about her painting, “The Village Scene”, to an audience of 200+ and emceed the first half of the Deepti Designs student art exhibition.
Ananya held two sessions in this art-focused after school club where she taught 10 students basic principles of Madhubani art, as they created their art on wooden blocks. The goal of this activity was to use a sustainable material to paint on while also learning Madhubani art concepts.
Ananya created a 30-minute video for students aged 11-14 on how to draw and paint a simple Madhubani-styled bird.
To express her love for the summer season, Ananya created an art tutorial that teaches how to make a bird-themed Mandala. This is part of the Art with Heart series.
At the onset of the pandemic, Ananya created this detailed Madhubani art tutorial video to engage her local community while in quarantine. The videos were step-by-step, targeting any age group interested in learning the art. The first one teaches viewers how to make a Floral Greeting Card.
In the annual Diwali event at the Vedic Cultural Center, Ananya presented her latest work, “The Fish Mandala”. She also participated in a Q & A shortly after.
In this event, students had the chance to share their culture and traditions through various types of art. Ananya contributed to this by presenting Madhubani art, which originates in India. She also exhibited two art projects and answered questions that audience members had about this art form.
In this speaking opportunity, Ananya presented “The Spring Bird” painting to an audience of 200. Additionally, she exhibited two of her artworks to viewers and also organized a small station where she provided coloring worksheets for kids ages 3-10 to explore Madhubani art.
